Sofia Alaoui
Biography
Franco-Moroccan, Sofia Alaoui grew up on the roads of Asia. After studying and starting her career in Paris as a reader and script consultant, she directed a few short films of fiction (Ghost Mode) and documentary (Children of Nablus). Today, she has moved back to Morocco where she is currently developing her cinematographic universe with the intention of participating in the revival of Maghrebian cinema. Her latest short film, So What If The Goats Die, won the Grand Jury Prize at the 2020 Sundance Festival. She is currently preparing to shoot a fantasy short for the 20th Century Fox and is in production for her first feature film.
