Ninna Pálmadóttir
Biography
Ninna Pálmadóttir is an Icelandic filmmaker born in 1991. She graduated with an MFA in film directing/screenwriting from NYU Tisch School of the Arts in 2019 and holds a B.A in film studies & literature from the University of Iceland. Her short film ‘Paperboy’ (2019) has screened at various film festivals around the world, premiering at the 45th Seattle International Film Festival where it won an audience award. In 2019 ‘Paperboy’ won the ‘Best Icelandic Short’ award at the Reykjavík International Film Festival, the ‘Best Fiction Short’ at Euroshorts Young Filmmakers in Poland, the Sólveig Anspach Grand Prix 2020 and was selected to screen at TIFF’s SHort Cuts: Share Her Journey Shorts, event. ’Paperboy’ recently won the ‘Short of the Year’ award at the Icelandic Film & Television Academy Awards, Eddan. Ninna was a participant of European Short Pitch 2019 with her thesis script ‘All Dogs Die’ and is a 2019 recipient of the Spike Lee Production Fund for the same project. ‘All Dogs Die’ is recently completed and Ninna is currently in development on her first feature length film.
