Niki Lindroth von Bahr

Biography

Niki Lindroth von Bahr is an artist and animation director based in Stockholm, Sweden. She received her master degree in fine art at the Royal Institute of Art in Stockholm, spring 2016 and is represented by the Swedish Gallery Stene Projects. Nikis’ films Bath House (2014) and Tord and Tord (2010) have been screened at festivals around the world, such as Berlinale, Sundance, AFI and Annecy. Tord and Tord was also nominated as Best Short Film at Guldbaggegalan (Grand Swedish Film Award) 2011. The Burden had its world premiere at Göteborg International Film Festival 2017, where it was given the Best Swedish Shortfilm Award as well as the Audience Award. Along with making her own films and sculpture, she is also a freelance costume designer co-working with Nicklas Nilsson. Together they have designed and made costumes for the artist Fever Ray and David Bowie’s music video Blackstar.
