Mario Piredda
Biography
Mario Piredda was born in 1980 in Sassari, Italia. In 2002, he founded Orfeo TV, the first Italian street TV, collaborating with the association Citoyens. In 2005, he shot his first short movie Il Suono della Miniera and his second work Io sono qui, nominated for the David di Donatello 2011, won almost 70 awards and was officially selected in a great number of festivals all over the world. In 2011, Mario Piredda directed Los aviones que se caen and in the same year he co-directed the musical documentary Cervelli in fuga. In 2015 he directed the documentary Homeward, shot in Cambodia.In 2017, his short film A casa mia won the David di Donatello Award as Best Short Film. His latest production, Nina, is an episode of 13.11, a series produced by Elenfant Film and broadcasted on RepubblicaTV.
