Biography

Elsbeth Fraanje (1979) is a documentary filmmaker and researcher who works in film and television industry. Her latest documentary Highway Confessions won the Golden Calf Award for Best Short Documentary. In 2011, she graduated with honors at Utrecht School of Arts, Audio Visual Media and she is also an alumnus of IDFA’s Kids & Docs Workshop. Her graduation film Bound to Dance was broadcasted worldwide by TV5 Monde. Her debute documentary Suburban God (2013) was selected for the Dutch Golden Calf Competition. The quirky youth documentary Che! was selected amongst others for IDFA (Amsterdam), CPH:DOX* (Copenhagen) and Thessaloniki IFF.
