Boaz Frankel

Biography

Born in 1985 in Herzeliya, Israel, Boaz Frankel is a director, screenwriter and editor. He studied video-art at the Bezalel Academy of Art & Design in Jerusalem, and then moved to film studies at the Sam Spiegel Film School, where he graduated with honors in 2016. His short diploma film, “212” (2016), won best student film at the San Sebastian IFF and the Haifa International Film Festival; was nominated for the Israeli Academy Awards (Ophir Awards) in the best short film category; and was screened in Sarajevo, Krakow Film Festival and numerous other festivals around the world. “Kilometer 147” (2017), his first film after his studies, won the Ophir Awards for best short film, and was commercially distributed in theaters in Israel, as part of the short films collection “3 Arava Stories”.
