Astrid Bussink

Biography

Filmmaker Astrid Bussink has been working internationally since her first critically acclaimed movie The Angelmakers toured around film festivals (First Appearance Award IDFA, Best Short Doc Dokufest and many more). Ever since her work (THE LOST COLONY, MY ENSCHEDE, I SHOT THE MAYOR, POEM OF DEATH a.o.) has been shown and awarded all over the world, and she has lived and worked in Edinburgh, New York and Amsterdam. The Hideout is Astrid’s first youth documentary, which won the Dutch Golden Calf award among other awards and made her so enthusiastic for the genre that she is currently working on her 4th youth documentary.
