Alejandro Zuno
Biography
Graduated from the University Center for Cinematographic Studies of the National Autonomous University of Mexico (CUEC-UNAM), Alejandro Zuno has been first assistant director for different filmmakers, including Ernesto Contreras, Iván Ávila Dueñas and Roberto Fiesco. He was a fellow of the Young Creators Program of the National Fund for Culture and the Arts (FONCA) in the film script category for the project “Frentes fríos”.With his short film “La despedida de Eugenio” (2010) he won the Ulises Carrión Award for Best Mexican Short Film of the 14th Festival of Sexual Diversity in Film and Video, Mexico. His short film “Cuarto de hotel” (2015) was selected for the 13th Morelia IFF (FICM). In 2017, “Oasis”, won the 16th National Short Film Project Contest of the Mexican Institute of Cinematography (IMCINE), at the Guanajuato International Film Festival (GIFF) and the Ariel for the best short fiction in 2018.
