Adrian Silisteanu
Biography
Adrian Silisteanu was born in Bacau, Romania, on March 5th 1975 and graduated in Cinematography in Bucharest, while also studying Digital Cinematography at The National Audiovisual Institute in Paris. Romanian Director Adrian Sitaru’s film debut Hooked was also Silisteanu’s first film as Director of Photography. He shot the next four feature films of Sitaru Best Intentions, Domestic, Illegitimate, The Fixer and the short films Waves, The Cage, Lord, House Party, Excursion and Art. He worked as cinematographer with the well known Romanian theater director Silviu Purcarete for his first motion picture Somewhere in Palilula and he was cinematographer for the two seasons of Romanian version of HBO TV Show In Treatment. Adrian Silisteanu was cinematographer for the latest feature of director Ali Mostafa, The Worthy, which premiered in 2016, an Image Nation Abu Dhabi production. He also filmed many other movies including the feature films Ho-ho-ho by Jesus del Cerro, 2+2 by Thomas Ciulei, Live by Vlad Pa?unescu, or the shorts Superman, Spiderman or Batman by Tudor Giurgiu and Stopover by Ioana Uricariu. In 2012, Adrian Silisteanu directs his first short film, The Ditch. Written/Unwritten (2016) is the second short film directed by Adrian Silisteanu.
