Presentation
The César & Techniques project honors the entire technical sector of the film industry, whose professions are distinguished by the César – directors of photography, editors, sound engineers, set designers, costume designers, all of whom bring indispensable and unique know-how to the film – but also the technical service providers capable of understanding and supporting the deployment of their talent.
The mosaic of Technicians
The guide
Great inventory and contact tool, it gathers the names of all the technicians eligible for one of the five technical César awards, thus making it possible to find those who directed the photography, sets, costumes, sound, or editing of any film from the French production released in theatres during the year, as well as the names of the technical services companies that collaborated on at least one of these films.

Technical Labels
The Academy is setting up a new system for its members for the 2020 César: from 2 to 6 December 2019, the Academy’s technical members, grouped by specialized branch, will draw up a list of 10 films in the 5 technical categories awarded at the César (Costumes, Production Design, Editing, Cinematography and Sound). This list of “Technical Labels” will not be mandatory but will shed light on the technicians who have marked the film year.
The Technical Labels were unveiled on 6 December 2019.
