25th César Ceremony

The first woman winning best director

After Coline Serreau in 1986, it isn't until the year 2000 that a director once again wins the César for Best Film. But Tonie Marshall, with "Vénus Beauté (Institut)", is above all the first woman to win the César for Best Director. To this day, she is still the only recipient. Alain Chabat succeeds Antoine de Caunes in the role of Host of the Ceremony.
